Abstract
This Decree concerns the responsibilities and duties of national reference laboratories for salmonella in relation with the mapping and control of zoonosis and zoonotic infectious substances imposed by Regulation (EC) No. 2160/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the control of salmonella and other specified food-borne zoonotic agents and Directive 2003/99/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the monitoring of zoonoses and zoonotic agents, amending Council Decision 90/424/EEC and repealing Council Directive 92/117/EEC.
The Decree defines the general and specific duties of the national reference laboratories including cooperation with other organizations, coordination of national survey and mapping activities, collaboration with the food safety authorities and the carrying out of antimicrobicial resistance and control programmes for salmonella.
