Abstract
This Decree prohibits in principle fishing and landing of herring by Norwegian vessels in the North Sea and the Skagerrak in 2011. However a total quota tons (for specified area south 62° North in the North Sea and 4 nautical miles of the Danish and Swedish baseline and other areas in the Skagerrak) is allowed to be fished in 2011 in accordance with conditions set out in the present Decree. The Decree lays down specific rules and catch quotas for purse seining, trawl groups and coastal vessels groups and prescribes conditions that apply to all fishery activities to which this Decree applies. These conditions concern, among other things, inspections, reporting, bycatch, transshipment of catch and restrictions on fishing.
