Decree No. 1809 of 2010 to regulate fishing for cod in the NAFO area in 2011.

This Decree applies to an area known the NAFO area and described in section 1. Section 4, which prohibits fishing without a licence issued by the Director of Fisheries and outlines the conditions of such licence, shall apply also to the area west of 37 West. The Decree prohibits in general fishing for cod by Norwegian vessels in the area described. Section 3, however, allows fishing by Norwegian vessels of a total catch of 925 tons of cod in the NAFO sub-area 3M. Vessels shall be registered with the Directorate of Fisheries. Section 6 empowers the Director of Fisheries to stop fishing if catch quotas are full. Vessels shall observe the rules established by the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization. (9 sections)
