Abstract
This Decree regulates the permission to engage in fishing with trawling gear and related matters such as transfer and restructuring of vessels. Trawling for shrimps is excluded from the application sphere of the present Decree. Article 2 defines "cod trawling concession". For each kind of trawl fishing, depending upon the fish species, size of the vessel, fishing area, etc. the granting of permission is regulated. The sections of the Decree provide, inter alia, for the following matters: licences without geographical limits (sect. 2.1); cod trawling licences for vessels which process and store fish on board (sect. 3.1); trawling for shellfish (sect. 3.7); temporary licences for cod trawling in combinations (sect. 4.1); right of precedence of licence for active fishermen (sect. 4.3); assessment of fishing requirements in single districts and sale (sect. 4.7). Also the remaining provisions regulate the issue of licences for specific type of trawling, trawling for specified fish species or in specified areas and related issues such as the transfer of vessels to which the licence is attached.
