Abstract
The Regulation applies to special permit for fishing with trawls, shrimp trawls, purse fishing, seine and purse seine fishing for saithe. Quota distribution is also assigned according to the vessel's size (article 1-6). Fishing for cod with trawl-fishing authorization is only applied to vessels with cargo volume greater than 1 500 m3. Pelagic trawl-fishing permit may be applied when fishing for North Sea herring, pout, south of 64 N and for cod, haddock, whiting and saithe south of 62 N and east of 4 W. The permit also applies to trawling for blue whiting in areas and periods determined by the authorities. Pelagic trawl permit for vessels that have greater cargo volume than 4000 m3 is not permitted. Purse seine permits allow fishing for herring, mackerel, capelin, blue whiting and sprat. It is not permitted to fish for pollock tongue with vessels that have greater cargo volume than 500 m3 without being granted special permission.
