Abstract
The text of the Decree consists of 36 sections, divided into 10 Chapters: Scope, sphere of application and definitions (I); General provisions regarding animal disease prevention measures (II); Special provisions for small livestock (III); Vaccines (IV); General provisions regarding A, B, C, and D class diseases (V); Special provisions regarding the combating of anthrax (VI); Special provisions regarding the combating of "scrapie" affecting small livestock (VII); Special provisions regarding the combating of "maedi/visna" affecting sheep (VIII); Special provisions regarding the combating of "paratuberculosis" affecting goats (IX); Final provisions (X).
The Decree concerns the prevention of disease in animals, a category which includes livestock and game, and the prevention of transfer of infected substances from animal to man. Chapter V specifies various measures which shall be applied in the case of occurrence of diseases which are classified in A, B, C, and D classes. Measures shall be carried out either by the State Animal Health Supervision Agency or county veterinarians.
