Abstract
The Decree prescribes conditions for access to hunting of minke whales in 2008 to be granted by the Directorate of Fisheries. In order to obtain a license: (a) the vessel shall be registered; (b) the owner of the vessel shall be included in part B of the Fishermen's Census; (c) the applicant shall have participated in at least the last six years in the hunting of minke whales, and; (d) the applicant owns at least 50 percent of the vessel and is not the owner of another vessel which participates (art. 2). Applicants who have in the past infringed rules relative to whale hunting may not participate. Participants shall have passed a test to be prepared by the Directorate. In certain circumstances a substitute for the holder of the right to participate can be accepted by the Directorate in accordance with conditions set out in article 3.
