Decree No. 3 of 1953 to regulate catching of fur seals and elephant seal on Bouvet Island and Peter I. Island.

Until further notice it shall be forbidden to catch fur seals and elephant seals on Bouvet Island and Peter I. Island. Those who intentionally or inadvertently infringe the prohibition or assist in doing so shall be punished in accordance with section 6 of the Act relative to the catch of seal of 1951. Illegal catch may be confiscated and/or vessels and gear may be seized. (3 sections)
