Abstract
This Decree regulates the production of shellfish. "Shellfish" in this context shall mean crustacean such as lobster, crawfish, shrimps, crabs and similar, and molluscs such as oysters, blue mussels, other mussels and snails. No one shall construct, install, expand, hold a majority stake in, operate, etc. a fish farming enterprise without a permission of the Director of Fisheries. Section 3 regulates the procedures of application for permits and section 4 specifies reasons for refusal of a permit. The applicant shall submit an investment and financing plan (sect. 5). Permits may be given under this Decree for a production capacity not exceeding 1 million of fish a year. The permit expires if the permit holder does not start farming operations within a year of the date of issue. (11 sections)
