Abstract
This Decree prohibits in principle the hunting for seals by Norwegian vessels in the West Antarctic, i.e. the hunting areas in the fisheries zone of Jan Mayen and marine waters near to Jan Mayen outside of the fisheries zone of Greenland and southwest of Svalbard, and the East Antarctic, i.e. the marine areas east of 20 in the Russian economic zone. The Decree, however, specifies requirements a Norwegian vessel must meet in order to have the right to participate in such seal hunting.
