Decree No. 8955 of 1969 relative to mutual inspection rights of member states of the Northeast Atlantic Fisheries Commission.

This Decree provides for rights of inspections of fisheries operations which to which rules of the Northeast Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC) apply. Section 1 provides that Norwegian authorities may control compliance with rules with exception of vessels mentioned in section 2 and foreign authorities mentioned in section 2 may control compliance with relevant rules by Norwegian vessels. Section 2 defines also the convention area. Sections 3 to 7 outline duties of Norwegian vessels in relation with inspection by foreign authorities. The Department of Fisheries shall issue instructions for Norwegian inspectors carrying out inspections in waters outside of the fisheries limits of States mentioned in section 2. (8 sections)
