Abstract
The Decree consists of 26 sections divided into 4 Chapters: Scope, application sphere and definitions (I); General provisions (II); Specific conditions for single product groups (III); Final provisions (IV).
The scope of this Decree is to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases in relation with the importation and exportation of certain animal products, including milk not intended for human consumption, food for pets, enriched animal proteins, skins and hides, manure. It shall not apply to fish caught in the open sea. It applies to trade with countries of the European Economic Area. Chapter II contains general conditions which apply to all products to which this Decree applies. In Chapter III conditions are specified for each type of product. Reference is made to various Council Directives. Article 17 provides for health certification before dispatch of meat.
