Decree relative to the approval of enterprises for the participation in the marketing of potatoes (No. 684 of 1999).

This Decree formulates various criteria which companies shall meet in order to become an approved wholesale trader in potatoes and it lays down several obligations of approved traders. Criteria have regard to the status and size of the enterprise and its technical and administrative capacity (sect. 4). Criteria, include: enterprises shall be registered in the Register of Companies; enterprises in South Norway shall handle at least 1000 tons of potatoes from producers (those of the North at least 250 tons); the enterprise shall have adequate storage capacity (a criteria to be decided by the Marketing Council) and shall have adequate administrative and other capacity to carry out sorting and quality control and classification in accordance with current legislation and to meet the obligations prescribed by section 5. Further, approved enterprises shall oblige themselves to follow instructions of the Department of Agriculture or the Marketing Office regarding quality classification or labelling, to provide information to authorities, etc. (11 sections)
