Decree relative to cleaning of discharged water (No. 912 of 1996).

The Decree makes provisions Council Directive 91/271/EC on urban waste-water treatment directly applicable in Norway. The Ministry of the Environment shall indicate sensitive and less sensitive areas in accordance with articles 5 and 6 of the Directive. The Ministry shall be the competent authority to issue permits for discharge in accordance with sections 4, 5, 7, 10-13 of the Pollution Act and shall supervise operations in accordance with section 15 of the Act.
