Abstract
The Decree provides for control by the State Plant Inspection Office, the customs office or another authority empowered by the Ministry of Agriculture of the importation of plants and parts of plants so as to prevent the importation of plant pests and diseases. The State Plant Inspection Office can order shipments of plants or plant material to be detained by the customs office or in the warehouse. Pursuant to section 3 it shall be prohibited to import certain plants and materials, listed in part in Schedules A and B, into Norway. Section 4 lists conditions on which import of specified material may be imported. Section 5 makes provision for health certificates and re-exportation certificates to be released by plant health authorities of the country of exportation. The certificates shall be drawn up according to the FAO standard model. Section 5 is followed by some miscellaneous provisions concerning packing, border trade, fees and some other matters.
