Abstract
The Act consist of 12 sections which carry the following titles: Definitions (1); Measures (2); Duty of notification (3); Supervision and related matters (4); Non-observance of prohibition (5); Compensation (6); Reimbursement (7); Notification of prohibition (8) Control charges (9); Penal provisions (10); Miscellaneous provisions (11 and 12).
"Plants", "plant diseases" and "pests" are defined in section 1. Section 2 outlines powers of the government in relation with prevention or limitation of spreading or eradication of pests and diseases. Certain cultivation and importation of plant and other material may be prohibited. Owners or users of real property who know or suspect the existence on their land of pests and diseases shall notify forthwith municipal authorities (sect. 3). Supervision shall be carried out by the appropriate department (sect. 4).
