Abstract
The scope of the Decree is to secure proper keeping of ostriches. The Decree prescribes standards relative to conditions in which ostriches are kept and lays down rules for the slaughtering of ostriches. Requirements are formulated with regard to the space were ostriches are kept, hygiene, climatic conditions, light, etc. Other provisions deal with water and feed supply. Keepers of ostriches shall prepare an operation plan. The plan shall be submitted to the State Animal Health Office or the district veterinarian. Also the premises were ostriches will be kept are to be approved. (23 sections completed by 3 Schedules)
