Delegation of authority to the Directorate of Fisheries pursuant to section 28 of the Marine Fisheries Act 1983 (No. 145 of 1988).

In accordance with section 28 of the Marine Fisheries Act, the Directorate of Fisheries is empowered to grant, in single cases, exemptions from the prohibition to carry out fishing operations within 100 metres of aquacultural installations in marine waters or to come within 20 metres of such installations. In single cases the Directorate may also regulate and prohibit fishing outside of these limits.
