Abstract
The Ministry of Fisheries’ authority to establish prohibitions on fishing in specific areas in order to protect the growth of juvenile fish and ensure recruitment to fish stocks, pursuant to Section 3 no. 1 of the Regulation of 3 June 1977 No. 6 relative to the fishery protection zone of Svalbard and Section 1 no. 1 of the Regulation of 28 April 1978 No. 20 regulating fishing in the territorial waters and the inner waters of Svalbard, is delegated to the Directorate of Fisheries.
