Abstract
This Decree of the Department of Foreign Affairs establishes a fisheries protection zone with an outer limit of 200 nautical miles from the baselines which have been established for Svalbard but not beyond the limit of the Norwegian Economic Zone as established by Act No. 91 of 1976. The Department of Fisheries shall be granted the authority to regulate fishing in the zone, e.g. matters relative to authorizations and registration, to restrictions on use of gear, to establishment areas for the protection of young fish, and to fixing of maximum allowable catch for species (sect. 3).
