Directive concerning access to fishing in closed areas with cod trawlers which have installed sorting grates.

All vessels which have installed a sorting grate in the cod trawl may fish, in accordance with conditions established by the present Directive, in areas of the Norwegian Economic Zone north 64 N, and in the areas to be established by the Director of Fisheries in accordance with Decree No. 502 of 1996. A sorting grate with a distance of 55 mm between the ribs shall be compulsorily installed on cod trawlers. The grate shall be conform specifications contained in the Annex (here omitted). Sections 5 to 9 specify the types of sorting grates which may be used. (13 sections)
