Directive No. 622 of 1997 to regulate the control of hunting on Svalbard.

The sections of this Directive are divided into 8 Chapters: Hunting card (I); General provisions regarding weapons and ammunition (II); Weapons and ammunition for hunting for shall game (III); Weapons and ammunition for hunting for big game (IV); Shooting tests (V); Approval of licence to kill Svalbard reindeers (VI); Catch and hunting gear (VII); Penal provisions and entry into force (VIII).
Section 2 formulates a report on hunting attached to the hunting card. Small game means mountain foxes and wildfowl. Big game means Svalbard reindeers.
