Abstract
This regulation applies to shrimp-fishery in international waters north of 35° N and west of a line drawn along the meridian 42° W to position 59° N 42° W and along the meridian 44° W to the coast of Greenland (The NAFO Convention Area). It is illegal for Norwegian vessels to fish and land shrimps in The NAFO Convention Area in 2013, however they may undertake these activities for a maximum of total allowable catch of 96 tons of shrimps in the area 3L and in waters deeper than 200 meters. Permission to do so shall be granted by the Fisheries Directorate. With permission from the Fisheries Directorate, observation coverage may be reduced to 25% of the period in which vessels are present in fishing areas if a daily catch report is electronically submitted in adherence to article 3c of Regulation No. 1507 of 11 December 2009 (LEX-FAOC100725). All costs for observation coverage shall be borne by the vessels.
