Abstract
The Regulation applies to fishing for Greenland halibut in the fishery zone around Jan Mayen. Permitted landing of Greenland halibut equals to a maximum of 9 165 tons, of which 465 tons shall be allocated for research. Allowed quota to Norwegian fishing vessels measuring 28 meters in length are authorized to a total allowable bycatch of 17.5 tons of Greenlandic halibut. Authorized to a total allowable catch of 12.5 tons (vessels of max 13.99 meters length), 15 tons (vessels between 14 and 19.99 meters length), and 17.5 tons (for vessels from 20 to 27.99 meters length). For unauthorized halibut-fishing vessels, fishing for other species North of 62 N shall have permission to a maximum landing of 7% of halibut bycatch. Fishing for halibut is not permitted in specific areas listed in article 9. Vessels measuring 28 meters in length are authorized to a total allowable bycatch of 17.5 tons of Greenlandic halibut.
