Abstract
This Regulation applies to the Fisheries Protection Zone around Svalbard, where Norwegian and foreign vessels (including vessels for exploration purposes) are engaged in commercial fishing of cod (bycatch of 10%). It is prohibited to fish cod in the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard, unless otherwise expressly stipulated. Norwegian, Russian, EU and Faroense vessels are authorized to fish quotas. for EU (quota for 2012 equivalent to 27 784 tons), for Faroense vessels (quota for 2012 equivalent to 1 526 tons). Vessels authorized to fish for Norwegian Arctic cod in the economic zone are exempt from these restrictions. Failure of compliance shall be punished according to articles 8 and 9 of Act No. 91, and articles 60-61 and 64-65 of Act No. 37.
