Abstract
The purpose of the present Regulation, adopted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, is to contribute to the implementation of market regulation for Norwegian-produced eggs in the most efficient and competition-neutral manner. The market regulator, Prior Norge, shall be responsible for seeking to achieve the agreed-upon target price, in accordance with the assumption that the target price can be achieved through market balance, and for implementing market regulation of Norwegian-produced eggs in a manner that keeps costs as low as possible. Funds allocated for market regulation can be used to finance the following measures initiated or facilitated by the market regulator: 1. Refrigerated storage of eggs and egg products and freezing storage of egg products; 2. Discounted delivery of eggs; 3. [repealed]; 4. Price compensation for domestic production of egg products (yolk and egg whites) based on Norwegian-produced shell eggs; 5. Export delivery of eggs and egg products; and 6. Special markets. These measures are regulated in detail. Compensation under this Regulation is contingent on the Marketing Council having the necessary funds available for the purpose.
