Abstract
The present Regulation, adopted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, lays down rules on market regulation to promote the marketing of agricultural products. Its objective in relation to the productions of milk and grains is to contribute to achieving the agreed-upon target price in accordance with the assumptions that the target price can be achieved through market balance. In relation to the productions of eggs and beef, sheep/lamb, and pork is, the objetive is to ensure a balanced market in accordance with the current agricultural policy. The Regulation applies only to goods produced in Norway. Market balance is understood as ensuring that domestic consumption of agricultural products matches the total of Norwegian production and supplementary imports, and that the marketing of Norwegian-produced goods takes place at the prices agreed upon in the agricultural agreement. Market balance pertains to the raw material level. The market regulators are Nortura SA, Felleskjøpet Agri SA og Tine SA.
