Regulation No. 1710 on fire prevention.

The objective of the present Regulation is to contribute to reducing the likelihood of fire and limiting the consequences that fire can have on life, health, environment, and material goods. The Regulation contains 24 articles organized in the following chapters: I. Introductory provisions; II. Preventive duties for building owners; III. Preventive duties for the users of buildings; IV. The preventive duties of municipalities; VI. Product requirements; VII. Final provisions.
The Regulation establishes a general duty of care when carrying out activities that could cause a fire and prohibits to light a fire or handle flammable objects outdoors under conditions or in a manner that could lead to a fire. The Regulation establishes a prohibition to light a fire or handle flammable objects in or near forests and other uncultivated land each year from 15 April to 15 September, subject to the exceptions of Article 3. Municipalities shall assess the likelihood of fire and the consequences that fire can have on life, health, environment, and material values in the municipality, and take necessary preventive actions.
