Regulation No. 1843 regulating fishing for mackerel in 2015.

Abstract
It is prohibited to Norwegian fishing vessels to fish and land mackerel in 2015. However, this Regulation sets provisions for the authorization to Norwegian vessels to participate in fishing and landing a maximum of 242 078 tons of mackerel in the territorial waters and economic zone, fishery zone around Jan Mayen, the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard and in international waters. Of this quantity 1 265 tons shall be allocated for research, apprenticeships and teaching purposes and 1 200 tons for bait. Article 2 enlists territorial waters where fishing activities are permitted and fishing methods are listed in articles 4-6. Fishing vessels in purse group and mackerel trawl permits shall be granted quotas on the basis of allowances enlisted in Chapters 2-3 respectively.
The Regulation consists of 6 Chapters: Fish prohibition and quotas (1); Fishing seine group (2); Fishing trawler group (3); Fishing in coastal vessel group (4); General provisions (5); Administrative fines, penalties and entry into force (6).
