Abstract
It is not permitted for Norwegian vessels to fish and land redfish north of 62 degrees North in 2014. The prohibition does not apply to vessels that can fish and land redfish in accordance with Regulation No. 1878 relating to the fishing in lakes. Norwegian fishing vessels may however land up to 17 280 tons of redfish in the Norwegian economic zone north and the fishery zone around Jan Mayen. Of this quantity allocated 500 tons may be of bycatch. With the restrictions imposed by Regulation No. 755 on fishing methods, fishing with bottom trawls for redfish is only permitted within a range of areas listed under article 7. Bycatch is equivalent to 20% of catch. It is prohibited to fish for redfish with bottom trawls in the period from 1 March to 30 April.
