Abstract
The Regulation sets rules with regard to fishing vessel quotas when fishing for blue whiting in the Norwegian territorial waters and economic zone, fishery zone around Jan Mayen, the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard and in international waters. The authorization applies to vessels equipped with blue whiting trawl permits and is calculated at a quota unit fixed at 8 064 tons. Of this quota, a vessel quota is calculated on the basis of 1 679 tons catch from EU waters and of 2 340 tons fished in Faroese zone. Maximum quotas in Norwegian territorial waters and economic zone, fishery zone around Jan Mayen, the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard and in international waters for vessels with pelagic trawl permit or North Sea trawler permission shall be calculated with factor 3.84. Of the total quota, a maximum shall be calculated on the basis of 0.98. If fished in EU waters, factor 0.7 applies to catch in the Faroese zone. Quota for the calculation of transfer of quotas between years for vessels equipped with pelagic trawl permit or North Sea trawl permits are calculated on the basis of factor 3.21.
