Abstract
The Regulation sets rules concerning the registration, evaluation, authorization, and restrictions of chemicals - also defined as REACH in adherence to EU regulations. These regulations apply in Norway (for petroleum activities on the Norwegian continental shelf). All or part of these regulations may apply to Svalbard, Jan Mayen and areas under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of the Environment. These guidelines address the production and use of chemical substances (i.e. everything made of atoms), and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment. The Climate and Pollution Agency is the authority implementing REACH regulations.
