Abstract
The purpose of this Regulation is to promote the quality of fish and fishery products for human consumption and to contribute to international trade of Norwegian fish and fish products.
The Regulation consists of XII Chapters and II Appendices:
Chapter I Scope, scope and definitions. Chapter II Live fish. Chapter III Handling of fish. Chapter IV - Quality requirements for raw material. Chapter V Special provisions for fish and fish products to consumers in Norway. Chapter VI Special provisions for farmed fish. Chapter VII Special provisions for crustaceans. Chapter VIII - Special provisions for salt, salted fish, salt fillets, dried fish and salted herring. Chapter IX - Specificial provisions for dried fish. Chapter X - Requirements for packaging and labeling of fish and fish products. Chapter XI Special provisions for trading with Brazil. Chapter XII - Administrative provisions and penalties.
Appendix I A. Description of goods which are subject to labeling requirements for fish and fishery products. B. Fishing area for species caught at sea.
Appendix II List of descriptions and species to use when labeling.
