Abstract
This Regulation prohibits, in principle, the importation of all products of animal origin, including honey, intended for human consumption or for animal feed from the People's Republic of China. However, all products are listed in the Schedule to this Regulation and which meet the conditions of this regulation, as well as public health and animal health requirements that apply to the relevant products in others regulations, are exempted from this prohibition. Shipments of products listed in Part II of the Schedule are allowed to be imported when each shipment is followed by a health certificate. The health certificate shall include a statement from official Chinese authorities that the shipment has been subjected to chemical analysis to ensure that the products in the shipment do not pose any risk to animal or human health.
In particular, the chemical analysis should have been carried out to detect chloramphenicol, nitrofuran and nitrofuran metabolites. Aquaculture products listed in Appendix Part II shall also be tested for the content of malachite green and crystal violet and their metabolites. The statement from official Chinese authorities shall contain the results of the analyses.
