Abstract
This Act provides for the protection of consumers from irregularities concerning the quality, quantity and prices of consumer goods or services and from misleading propaganda regarding the use and usefulness of consumer goods or services.
The Act provides for the establishment of a Consumer Protection Council to protect the rights and interests of consumers, the supply system, and prices, quality and purity of consumer goods and services.
The Act provides for: powers of the Government to systematize and control supply of consumer goods and services; labelling requirements; prohibited acts regarding consumer goods or services; determination of standards for consumer goods or services; powers of the Government to conduct inquiry and inspections, and appointment of Inspection Officers; penalties; etc.
