Plant Protection (First Amendment) Act, 2079.

This Act amends the Plant Protection Act, 2064 (principal Act). The Preamble to the principal Act is amended to include the words minimize risks to national biosecurity. Certain clauses of section 2 are substituted and new definition for regular non-quarantine pests is added. Sections 3 and 5 of the principal Act relating to Plant Quarantine Committee are substituted. Clause (4a) is added after clause (4) in section 4. Sections 6 and 12 are amended and section 14 is substituted. Further, sections 15, 23 and 30 are amended. New section 35A is added. The words Plant Protection are replaced by Plant Protection and Quarantine in the title of the principal Act.
