Abstract
The Food (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 2016, made under the Food Safety Act 2005, prohibit the direct import of food or food products from the People’s Republic of China and Hong Kong into Nauru. However, these products may be imported if they come through Australia or New Zealand. Any person who directly imports food from China or Hong Kong in violation of this regulation commits an offense.
