Nauru Fisheries and Marine Resources Authority Act 1997.

This Act establishes the Nauru Fisheries and Marine Resources Authority which aims to manage, develop, conserve and protect the fisheries and marine resources of Nauru. The Authority shall act to administer and enforce the act as well as make recommendations on the management, development, conservation and protection of fisheries and marine resources (sect. 5). The Board of Directors of the Authority shall act to manage the affairs and exercise the powers of the Authority (sect. 6). All property held by the Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources is transferred to the Authority (sect. 30).
