Animal Products (Regulated Control Scheme - Limited Processing Fishing Vessels) Regulations 2001.

These Regulations provide for a regulated control scheme, in relation to fishing vessels, where any of the catch of the fishing vessel is intended to be exported for human consumption without being further processed within New Zealand.
The 49 regulations are divided into 6 Parts: Preliminary provisions (1); Standards (2); Registration of limited processing fishing vessels (3); Duties of operators (4); Verification (5); Miscellaneous provisions (6). The standards, set out in Part 2, apply only to fish material and fish product intended for human consumption. Fishing vessels must be registered under these regulations unless they carry out all their limited processing operations under a registered risk management programme and, therefore, are exempt from the requirements of these regulations (Part 3). For the registration of fishing vessels an initial verification report must be completed by an accredited verifier. Registration fees are set out in the schedule and offences are provided for in regulation 49.
