Abstract
This Order imposes a levy on maize seed sold for sowing. The levy is payable to the Foundation for Arable Research Incorporated. The levy is calculated on the basis of the number of maize seeds a grower buys from a collection agent in the levy year. The levy is intended to fund activities specifically related to maize, including research and development, education and training, and collection and publication of information.
The Order further provides for: record-keeping requirements of growers who buy maize seeds, mediation of disputes, etc.

This Order enters into force on 31 July 2012.
Notes
This Order repeals the Commodity Levies (Maize) Order, 2006.This Order expires 6 years after it is made by virtue of section 13(1) of the Commodity Levies Act 1990, unless earlier revoked.
