Abstract
This Act empowers the Governor-General to make Orders in Council imposing on a commodity a levy payable to a body corporate.
The Act provides for restrictions on the making of Orders, matters to be specified in Orders and effects of Orders.
The levy received by industry organizations shall not be spent for any commercial or trading activity but for purposes specified in section 10.
The Act further provides for: resolution of disputes; the expiration of levy orders after 6 years; compliance audits; offences; etc.

Entry into force notes
This Act enters into force 28 days after the day on which it receives the Royal assent.
