Abstract
This Order imposes a levy on nashi pears grown in New Zealand and exported or sold as fresh fruit. The levy is payable to the Nashi New Zealand Incorporated by growers. The levy is calculated on the basis of the kilogram weight of leviable nashi pears. The levy is intended to fund activities specifically related to nashi pears, including product and market research and development, promotion, quality assurance and education.
The Order further provides for: record-keeping requirements of nashi pears growers, mediation of disputes, etc.

Entry into force notes
This Order enters into force on 14 June 2012.
Notes
This Order repeals the Commodity Levies (Nashi Asian Pears) Order, 2006.This Order expires 6 years after it is made by virtue of section 13(1) of the Commodity Levies Act 1990, unless earlier revoked.
