Abstract
These Regulations amend the Fisheries (Challenger Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986.
The amendments include: substitution of subclause (3) of regulation 2B and addition of subclause (3A) imposing separate daily limits on the number of blue cod that may be taken from the Marlborough Sounds Area and the Challenger (East) Area; substitution of regulation 2C with a new regulation prescribing the minimum and maximum size for blue cod that may be taken in the Marlborough Sounds Area; substitution of regulation 2E with a new regulation giving restrictions on the possession of blue cod; insertion of a new regulation 2F which imposes a closed season for blue cod in the Marlborough Sounds Area; insertion of a new regulation 4AA which bans the taking of finfish within the Maud Island closed area; insertion of a new regulation 4B prescribing hook limits for the taking of finfish in the Marlborough Sounds Area; deletion of regulation 4F; and minor changes to regulation 5 providing for offences and penalties.
