Abstract
These Regulations shall apply to commercial fishers taking or possessing any fish under a permit within the South-East fishery management area.
These Regulations make provision for the following: minimum net mesh sizes; restrictions on the use of drag nets and trawl nets; areas in which it shall be prohibited to set nets; restrictions on the taking of rock lobsters and shellfish; areas in which it shall be prohibited to fish; seasonal restrictions and quotas; and for offences and penalties.
Entry into force notes
These regulations enter into force on the 14th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

These Regulations repeal the Fisheries (Christchurch Commercial Fishing Restrictions) Notice 1985 and the Fisheries (Chatham Islands Rock Lobster Closed Season) Notice 1985.Consolidated version of the Regulations as of 6 October 2023.
