Abstract
The purpose of the present Act is to affirm, protect, and promote human rights and fundamental freedoms in New Zealand. The Civil and Political rights affirmed in the Act are listed under Part 2 and are related to life and security of the person, Democratic and Civil rights, Non-discrimination and minority rights, Liberty of the person and Rights related to search, arrest, and detention.
