Abstract
This Regulation consisting of 20 articles aims at regulating some fishing gears used in the artisan fishing. It establishes that (i) the use of gill-net is permitted only after receiving a permit and specifies requirements for license application; (ii) there are two types of permits (a) for gill-nets with rings; (b) for gill-nets without rings; and (iii) is prohibited the gill-net use is from August to the end of November each year. The permit is valid for two years and can be renewed. Article 12 establishes that unintentional catches - other than small pelagic fish - should not exceed 5% of the total catch in each fishing operation using the gill-nets. It is prohibited to use any means to collect and attract fish swarms in order to trap them for hunting (art.18).
