Abstract
This Decree consisting of 64 articles, divided in IX Chapters, and 8 Annexes aims at regulating import, export, circulation and use of pesticides in Oman. The Regulation contains general provisions on the entry, registration, manufacturing, circulation and use of restricted pesticides; analysis and transport of any kind of pesticides. This section establishes also the Pesticides Registration Committee (Chapter 1); specific provisions on pesticides registration (Chapter 2); specifications for packaging and labelling (Chapter 3); rules regarding authorization, registration and procedures for pesticides import and export (Chapter 4); circulation of pesticides in the State (Chapter 5); manufacture and composition (Chapter 6); conditions of use of pesticides and allowable limits of residues (Chapter 7); disposal and communication about the pesticides (Chapter 8); inspections (Chapter 9). The Annexes are entitles as follows: Fees (1); Classification of pesticide toxicity according to WHO classification (2); Terms and conditions of storage by the importers and exporters (3); The data required to obtain import and export permit (4); Term for storehouses and exhibitions of pesticides (5); Data and documents required to obtain a permit to import the active substance (6); Data and documents required for the license for manufacturing the pesticides (7); Ways to disposal empty containers (8).
