Abstract
This Royal Decree issues the Agricultural Quarantine Law. The Ministry of Agriculture and Fish Resources shall issue the implementing Regulations for this Law.
The provisions of this Law apply to: imported, exported or in transit consignments; plants, plant products, fertilizers and their means of transport; and containers, honey bees and organisms capable of carrying or harboring or spreading pests that require phytosanitary measures. The entry into Oman of insects, spiders and beneficial microorganisms is allowed in accordance with the prescriptions of this Law.
The protection of human and plant's health is based upon the international standards, guidelines and recommendations. The Law covers also inspection and treatment of the suspected consignments, emergency procedures and penalties.
