Abstract
This Act provides for control over and regulation of practice of veterinaries and for this purpose establishes the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Papua New Guinea and requires the Minister to appoint an officer of the Department to be the Registrar of Veterinary Surgeons. The Registrar shall keep the Register of Veterinary Surgeons of Papua New Guinea, in which persons who apply and qualify for registration as a registered veterinary surgeon shall be registered upon approval by the Board. The Board may suspend or cancel registration and the Act provides for appeal against decisions of the Board. The Act prohibits practice of veterinary surgery by persons other than a veterinary surgeon registered under this Act.
