Abstract
The Government shall establish the North-West Frontier Province Wildlife Management Board whose functions are specified in section 5. Sections 8 and 9 prohibit the hunting of any wild or protected animal, and authorize the hawking or coursing of game animals only upon payment of a fee. No person shall be authorized to possess, sell, receive as a gift, etc. any wild animal, dead or alive, without a Certificate of Lawful Possession (sects. 11 and 12). The grant of an import or export permit, and of a trade licence shall be necessary for the import, export and trade of wild animals of an endemic or exotic specie (sect. 13 and 14). The Government may declare any area to be a wildlife sanctuary, a national park or a game reserve as provided for in sections 15-18. The remaining sections contain penal provisions and provisions of miscellaneous nature. The Act contains also 3 Schedules listing the following: game animals which shall only be hunted under the terms of a game shooting or game capture licence; animals, trophies or meat, for the possession, transfer or export for which a Certificate of Lawful Possession is required; and, protected animals which shall not be hunted, captured or killed.
